On the International Day of Peace, the Ukraine-Russia Working Group of Pax Christi Flanders is organising a unique evening of music and poetry in Brussels at House of Compassion ( Béguinage Church).
This evening is being organised in cooperation with Ukrainians who have found refuge in Belgium.
Ukrainian accordionist Oleksii Soldatov and Russian violinist Lev Adamov will play the music they created together as part of the artistic project for peace ‘The Dialogues’.
The evening’s programme is rounded off by Ukrainian poems recited in Ukrainian and Dutch by Johan De Boose, Aleksey Yudin and Nelli Kotillevich.
About the artists:
- Oleksii Soldatov: Ukrainian accordionist who began a musical dialogue with Lev Adamov last year. What began as a shy encounter on the roof of PAKT in Antwerp turned into an energetic musical interaction.
- Lev Adamov: Russian violinist who has lived in Belgium for many years.
- Nelli Kotilevich: singer and art teacher from Odessa, who works with Ukrainian refugee children and young people in Antwerp.
Come and celebrate peace and connection together on International Day of Peace!
