Movie ‘The Letter’
**Warning: this is an online event!**
In 2015, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Si’. This encyclical on the environmental crisis was addressed to all people in the world.
On 4 October 2022, the film ‘The Letter’ was launched. The title, of course, refers to the encyclical. The film gives voice to four persons. They represent groups that are not usually heard at the tables of world conferences. They have been invited for a unique dialogue with the Pope.
From Senegal, the Amazon, India and Hawaii, they bring the perspectives and solutions of the poor, indigenous people, youth and biodiverse nature into a conversation with Pope Francis himself. The film is full of powerful personal stories and up-to-date information about the global crisis and its impact on nature and people. It also bears witness to the power of humanity to end the ecological crisis.
Together with House of Compassion, we will watch this film. It will be introduced by Karel Malfliet from Ecokerk and there will also be a discussion with him after the screening. When you register, we will provide you with the link to follow the film and the discussion.
Participation is free, subject to registration.
