Slavery, even today

Slavery may be officially abolished, but today it is taking new forms. Around the world, 50 million people still live in conditions similar to slavery. In our country, too, it is not a rare phenomenon. Undocumented migrants or those working in fragile statuses face inhuman treatment, late or no payment of wages, unreasonable working hours, etc.

This exhibition deals with slavery in the past, slavery today and the long road towards a world free of slavery. It was organised in collaboration with KU Leuven / KADOC.

The exhibition is on permanent display during House of Compassion’s opening hours:

  • Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 5pm and on
  • Sunday from 2pm to 5pm. On Mondays, House of Compassion is closed.
