The imaginary pilgrimage
When three prisoners ask for support to process their life history and crime, Siska Deknudt, chaplain in Beveren prison, sets off with them.
Beveren is a penitentiary institution for long-timers. The prison looms up when you drive between Ghent and Antwerp. It is a recently built prison and stands at the end of a dead-end street …
Inspired by the book “The improbable journey of Harold Fry”, she undertook an imaginary pilgrimage with them. Their experiences have been made into a wonderful exhibition with visual stories, podcasts and animations.
The exhibition will be on display in Brussels from 24 November.
